Street Fighter V

Hey folks, this time I'm going to do something a little different. Instead of reviewing a game that I've played or showcase some new material for an upcoming game, I'm going to talk about something else for a change.

So, I'm sure those who know me well knows that I am a huge Mortal Kombat fan. I've been one ever since 1992 when the original came out. Watching my brother play as Scorpion and his friends would come over and play the crap out of  this game on the Genesis. So you can tell, we definitely favor Mortal Kombat over Street Fighter. Once and a while, we'd play the game whenever someone would bring it over, or we would rent it from Blockbuster, but that's pretty much it. We've only owned Mortal Kombat out of all the series that there are in the fighting game genre. And even when we go to Galloping Ghost, both of us don't really touch any of the Street Fighter machines. I'd probably glance at it or might just goof around, but I wouldn't really play it seriously enough to want to keep playing.

Then when Street Fighter 4 came into the world, it was the first ever game out of the series that really made me want to play it. I never owned it unfortunately, but whenever I got the chance to play it, I would play it. I would sometimes watch playthrough videos on Youtube and it would always be when someone is playing as Juri. Juri for some reason struck an interest with me despite that Vega is my all-time favorite Street Fighter character, as well as Ken. I would like for Juri to be present in the upcoming game, but I feel like she might not make it. I may have said to a friend that I probably won't get it if Juri isn't in the initial roster at start, but I might change my mind seeing how I already have two likable characters already in the game.

I doubt that it's going to take me a long time to get behind the game seeing how I've never really played Street Fighter like I do with Mortal Kombat. I know that the mechanics are greatly different than Mortal Kombat. To be honest, out of all the fighting games that I have played (Such as Soul Calibur, Capcom vs Marvel, and Tekken) I feel that Mortal Kombat is the most simplistic fighter out of all of them. The moves are very easy to perform, as well as the finishers. The only challenging thing is to figure out where you have to stand to perform them, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. Of course, I will admit, the first time I ever performed a fatality was Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. Between the first game and Mortal Kombat 4, my brother would never tell me what the moves were, nor would he allow me to read the strategy guide to these games. I basically had to figure everything out myself. (Well guess who finally got the chance to get a strategy guide for Deadly Alliance and learned everything over Christmas break?)

Anyways, I'm getting off-track. The point is basically is that I am finally interested in playing a different fighting game for once because I did mostly everything you could do in X and I'm just kinda bored with it. It got old way too fast. Street Fighter V is grabbing my attention more and more and it makes me want to go out and play a Street Fighter game just so that I can get the concept of how you play this game since it's so much different than Mortal Kombat.

I'm the Kitty and I really have no idea how to end this today.
