All right, I figured I would put my two cents on this game because I can and want to. So of course, I decided to get Fallout 4 despite I've never played a Fallout game before. I don't know what made me want to pick this game up, maybe it has to do with having a dog for a companion. It's one of those games where you're going to have countless of quests... Oh boy.
First of all, I want to say I'm the kind of person who'll do side quests over main missions. Why? I dunno, I've always done this for these kinds of games. Since day one, the quest of heading to Diamond City wasn't completed until last night. Yes. I found out how big of a mistake that was seeing how I have crappy ass weapons. Pipe weapons do not do anything to anyone.
But I will say that these quests are interesting, despite that so far I've done nothing but clear areas out. I figured this is what I'm going to be doing a lot, but I'm not complaining. I've encountered a lot of these missions before in other RPGs.
Although, there is a complaint. Two actually.
Dogmeat is one of them. Dogmeat is a lovable dog. I freaking love German Shepherds... But this dog is dumb. He will attack anyone in the vicinity, even if I'm just walking pass them without even looking at them. This dog will go after them and will continue attacking them until they're dead or he's injured. It's sad to see him suffer, but if I'm low on stimpacks, I'm not wasting them on him. Sorry puppy, I love animals, but I don't love stupid. :-P
Secondly, every now and then I'm walking casually somewhere and out of the blue I get killed by a one-shot. Some random monster has a rocket launcher and just shoots me dead. I don't know where the hell it came from or who even shot it. This happens every now and then.
Even though it might sound like I'm not having fun with this game, I really am. I do enjoy these post- apocalyptic games and I certainly cannot wait to explore more of it.... I'm just hoping that I can find better guns soon.
I've been recording my gameplay on Twitch, come watch me: http://www.twitch.tv/kitty_1205
I've tried to get a schedule going, but for some reason I can't seem to stick to it, so just check up on the site every so often around 7-ish Central time.
